We are looking to recruit for the Head of Hydro-power, a department based in Ashford within our well established team.
As the Head of Hydro-power you will be at group director level responsible for the hydro-power team reporting and to the power sector director.
You will sit on the Power Sector Board and based in Ashford you'll will be responsible for the financial performance of the hydro team as well as day to day operation, management of the staff, overview of all projects and be heavily involved in the setting of a strategy to grow the sector.
You will be responsible for the business development of the hydro sector to meet the overall strategy and to ensure continuity of work for the hydro-team. You will also work with other sectors to support other regional operations in their aspirations to develop hydro engineering capability around the world.
You must have the ability to manage, lead and inspire the UK based team, providing governance and direction. You must have a sound technical knowledge of the components of a hydropower project and be able to work with clients and staff both in the UK and overseas.
You will be expected to manage business development for the sector and will be taking an active role in this as befits a position of this nature. You must have demonstrable experience in business development and we would expect the right candidate to have an extensive network within the industry.
We are looking for a candidate with relevant qualifications and memberships as well as significant experience at a similar level within consultancy, international experience will be a great advantage and you will also have significant technical knowledge.
International travel will be required as well as some travel to liaise with other URS/Scott Wilson teams across the UK.
