Cambridge, salary in the range £35,000-38,000 (plus generous pension contribution).

BirdLife International is a global Partnership of NGOs working together for bird and biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. We are seeking to recruit an energetic and experienced individual to lead and support our human resources needs across our international, decentralised organisation.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, the post-holder will engage across all seniority levels and different cultures, and advise senior management on HR policy areas and practice to fit the local needs. S/he will actively promote improvement in working practices across the organisation and facilitate adaptation of staff to changing technology and decentralised/remote working. The role will also oversee staff maintaining key office service functions at our head office.

The ideal candidate will have

  • A degree level mindset.
  • Relevant recognised professional qualifications and experience.
  • Excellent all round communication skills.
  • A practical, hands on approach to problem solving
  • The ability to motivate and collaborate with others, with cultural sensitivity
  • A sound knowledge of UK employment law, and aptitude for taking basics to apply to other legal environments, with good judgement on when to seek specialist advice.

Fluency in English is essential.  The post will require occasional international travel.
