RSPB Scotland is seeking to appoint a new Head of Fundraising and Communications, Scotland. As part of the Scottish Directorate Management Team, you will develop and implement RSPB's corporate strategy Saving Nature.
In this role, you will generate growing support for RSPB's conservation and business priorities, by leading the development of our communications and fundraising activity in Scotland. You will lead and manage a department of specialist staff, across multiple teams responsible for support generation activity. You will be an active member of the Scottish Directorate Management Team, supporting other Directorate priorities as the need arises, and be an active participant in the UK wide Senior Management group, as well as delivering strategic advice and support to Senior Managers on fundraising and communication issues.
Strong written and verbal communication skills will be essential, as will an ability to demonstrate proven experience of leading and managing corporate communications at Senior level, including media relations and issues management. A proven record of managing diverse income streams, and developing, implementing and monitoring strategic business plans and budgets is also essential. You will need to be an effective leader, quick thinking and self-reliant, with the ability to work with remote teams.
