Greenpeace International is looking for someone to shape and lead its Digital Strategy

we interact. The digital world of web, mobile, tablets and (smart) phones is constantly in development. In order to reach, inspire and mobilize people, Greenpeace wants to adapt to these changes, seize new opportunities and
maximize their potential for positive change in the world. You can help to make these changes a reality by  shaping and leading Greenpeace’s digital strategy.

Purpose of the job

The Digital Products Program (DPP) works as a centralized support and delivery center for the Greenpeace digital strategy. This internal agency uses a common web platform as the main engine for making digital products in order to meet Greenpeace's global communications and campaigning needs. In this way, Greenpeace can leverage already-developed components and produce new products cheaply and quickly. These can then be distributed to Greenpeace’s National regional Offices in an efficient way.

The Head DPP is responsible for Greenpeace global planning and execution of the DPP, thereby representing stakeholder needs. This includes defining the DPP vision and gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, taking the overall Greenepace strategy and goals into account. The head DPP works closely with engineering, communications, IT project management and support to ensure the agreed goals are achieved.

Main responsibilities

  • Define and monitor the product strategy and roadmap to ensure alignment with Greenpeace's global communications and campaigning needs
  • Have MRDs (Market Requirements Documents) and PRDs (Product Requirement Document) delivered with prioritized features and justification to ensure the right business needs are assessed
  • Organize beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples to efficiently and effectively develop digital products
  • Manage the digital budget to ensure it is spend well, within limits and according to the authorization procedures
  • Manage DPP projects conform established project management standards in order to deliver projects on time, on budget with the right scope
  • Establish relationships with third parties to assess partnerships development
  • Act as a leader and Industry expert within Greenpeace to establish world class Digital Products Development

Skills required / qualifications

  • B.Sc. or University degree
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Product and/or Project Manager, with team management / leadership experience
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
  • Project management experience, preferably Prince 2 and Agile
  • Technical background, with experience in Agile, .Net, front-end Web technologies
  • Experience with analysis & design, wireframing and prototyping
  • Maturity and presence to defend decisions and practices to senior management
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and ability to understand diverse user needs in different cultures
  • Experience in an international organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
