Job Description :

We are currently seeking a Head of Department for our U.S. Climate Change business.

 

Combating climate change involves a variety of risks; from societal, to commercial and technical issues. Understanding and managing risk is a prerequisite for making the right decisions. As a natural extension of the DNV purpose, “To Safeguard Life, Property and the Environment”, we work in a variety of fields to help governments and organizations to address the climate change challenge.

 

As Head of Department, you will have full responsibility for our Climate change operation in the United States and accountability for business results, business development, management, growth and results in the area of carbon risk management and training, verification and validation in the US.

 

Additional Priorities will include:

-        Development and growth strategic plan , having as a first phase 2012

-        Implementation of growth strategy

-        Development of service lines in USA

-        Development and management of a multidiscipline team of experts

-        Quality deliverables and client satisfaction

Job Requirements :

Qualified candidates will have the following attributes:

·    Recognized as a Climate Change leader within industry

·    Minimum of 10 years experience in a management position and relevant industry specialization

·    Excellent communicator and leader

·    Capable of developing and leading business improvement and CCS change processes in client organizations

·    Demonstrated success in business development

·    Management experience for experience and/or training in the fields of GHG auditing/assessment/advisory services, verification, auditing or validation experience in one or more programs/areas, e.g., CCAR, CCX, CDM/JI, EU-ETS, VCS, Gold Standard, Green-E Project verification, baseline/inventory verification, ISO 14001, Responsible Care, EHS compliance audits in the energy or process sectors, etc.

·    Knowledge in one or more GHG methodologies, registry requirements or other voluntary initiatives or national programs or projects, e.g., EU-ETS, CDM/JI, RGGI, CCAR, CCX, API Compendium, Landfill Gas, CHP, fuel-switch, renewable energy projects, land use/land use forestry projects, carbon capture & storage, transportation, etc.

·    Thorough knowledge in one or more related technical disciplines (environmental, management systems, ISO 14001, ISO 14064, sustainability, environmental engineering, industrial engineering, forestry,  economist, environmental finance, GHG life cycle analysis,  ISO 14040 series, Responsible Care, energy efficiency)

·    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. Masters degree is preferred.
