Salary £35,000 - £37,000 plus benefits

Triodos Bank is looking to recruit a 9 to 11 month maternity cover for the head of communications role, based in Bristol.

Purpose:

Leading on the PR and communications, both internally and externally for Triodos Bank NV. Developing and implementing a comprehensive PR and communications strategy, ensuring all aspects of Triodos Bank's external and internal communications support the commercial and corporate goals.

Building and maintaining effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the media, various agencies and other partners. Develop and manage Triodos Bank's corporate image in close co-operation with other Triodos offices, especially the international office. 

Required Experience:

A 'can do' attitude, the successful delivery of complex publicity projects serving a number of different stakeholders and an affinity with Triodos Bank's values.

Several years' media relations experience and a track record delivering high-profile press coverage across a variety of print and broadcast media.

Proven inter-personal skills and the ability to deal with contacts from a wide variety of backgrounds. Excellent spoken and written English and good presentation skills.

Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Driving profile-raising activity across the bank.
  • Working in partnership with the local management team of Personal, Business and Investment Banking, the Marketing function and others to develop, implement and evaluate effective external and internal communications strategies.
  • Developing and leading on effective communications to deliver the strategies above, and regularly reporting on its impact to the management team.
  • Deliver integrated PR elements of important campaigns for all three key commercial departments such as share issues for external parties and the bank itself, key Personal Banking campaigns and Business Banking mini-campaigns to support a variety of sectors.
  • Working with the media, building on existing and creating new relationships, writing and developing articles and press releases, networking internally and externally and promoting all aspects of the bank within the UK and overseas.
  • Managing relationships with key suppliers, including PR agencies. Contributing to the development of integrated campaigns through a marketing agency (as well as partners such as Forum for the Future).
  • Liaising with the other branches and the International office, to share best practise and build organisation-wide expertise, as well as actively participate in specific projects (examples include a new corporate identity, and website overhaul).
  • Working with the International office to support thought leadership activity - such as editing international articles, and creating, promoting and advising on speaking and presentational opportunities through key external events or forums.
  • Reviewing and developing the Bank's digital strategy and engaging in social media communications when/where appropriate.
  • Working closely with the HR team to develop and deliver effective internal communications.
  • Creating, implementing and maintaining control over the PR budget.
  • Overall editorial responsibility for the quarterly customer newspaper The Colour of Money, as well as responsibility for the publication of corporate materials including the English version of the Annual Accounts, and other corporate communications.
  • Working in partnership with Marketing to ensure all external materials (copy and images) meet Triodos Bank's brand guidelines, and overseeing and maintaining high standards of copy. This includes reviewing high volumes within tight deadlines on a wide variety of copy, from web content to customer letters and brochures.
  • Responsibility for provision of content for Triodos Bank's UK website to improve engagement, thought leadership activity and relationships with partners and the press.
  • Promoting, developing and measuring effective sponsorship and partnership deals within budget.
  • Overseeing corporate house style.
  • Responsibility for the successful delivery of the Triodos Bank NV Annual Meeting in conjunction with the Events Co-ordinator and the Marketing team, in particular, the management, design and control of the meeting's content.  Providing active support and input into other major annual events.
  • Acting in an advisory capacity and providing support to the Managing Director and Heads of Department on a variety of PR and/or communication activities, including input into and drafting & producing articles and presentations.
  • Creating a high performance environment to develop and coach team member to enable them to reach their maximum individual potential.
