Head of Climate Change, Asia

Reporting to the Vice President – LRQA, the successful candidate will be will be responsible for leading the technical integrity and development of Climate Change services across Asia encompassing CDM, JI, ISO 14064/5, Asia National ETS schemes as well as other complimentary services. The new role will also take responsibility for the overall training, qualification and development of LRQA staff.

Based in either Hong Kong or Beijing the main duties for the position include:

• To lead and manage LRQA’s Climate Change/CSR business.
• Develop, manage and monitor strategic and business planning activities for growing and delivering this business.
• Build capable capacity through ensuring appropriate training and development of staff occurs to sell, plan and deliver services.
• Develop market including liaising with project developers, clients and financiers’ regionally.
• Support to the preparation and development of local voluntary schemes ensuring that accreditation and registrations and LRQA’s reputation is maintained and not compromised.
• Represent LRQA via attendance at appropriate meetings, conferences, exhibitions and seminars.

The successful candidate will have:

• A engineering or environmental degree;
• Prior experience in managing a team of diverse people in or across Asia;
• High level of knowledge and experience in climate change services such as CDM, JI, ISO 14064 with exposure to CSR beneficial;
• Proven leadership, management, organizational and inter-personal skills;
• A good commercial acumen, strong creative thinking and problem solving abilities;
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Mandarin would also be ideal but not essential.
