CDP Cities is a new program designed to collect climate change related information from urban areas around the world. The program will provide the world’s first standardized format for municipal governments to disclose climate change risks and adaptation strategies and deliver materially relevant data for cities, investors, insurance companies, global businesses and other stakeholders.
Role:
The Head of CDP Cities will lead the development and operation of CDP’s newest program. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will be a strong self-starter with capacity to lead a high profile initiative.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing the CDP Cities program as the gold standard for disclosure of climate change information from urban areas.
- Overseeing day to day operations of the Cities program
- Meeting revenue targets through fundraising and product provision
- Developing data products, in conjunction with CDP partners, in response to market demand
- Marketing the CDP Cities program through presentations and public speaking engagements
- Leading training sessions for responding cities
- Recruiting high-level sponsorship from leading corporations
- Managing staff and budget
- Supporting CDP’s mission through promoting CDP Cities globally and working with colleagues from across the organisation and global offices
Required skills and experience:
- 3 to 5 years experience managing programs in the corporate, government, or non-governmental sphere
- Knowledge of climate change and issues facing urban areas
- Solid experience of managing projects, corporate sponsors, budgets, and multiple priorities
- Strong diplomatic skills and experience managing multiple relationships with partner organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to connect internationally and across cultures
- Good skills in analyzing data and reporting and presenting to colleagues
- Good skills in analyzing data and presenting to outside audiences
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategy in consultation with others, have fresh ideas
- Passion for working in – and building – a small, entrepreneurial team
