Description

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), Canada’s most trusted and respected wetland conservation organization, is looking for a confident, energetic and dedicated professional to join our team. Please apply by July 29, 2011.

As a member of the Regional Conservation Team, you will plan, develop, promote and implement territorial initiatives supporting the company’s strategic direction. Through policy, regulations and political influence, you will focus on the protection of waterfowl and wetlands to achieve conservation goals in the northern region.

Your eight years of experience and directly related knowledge make you the ideal candidate for this position, which is located in Yellowknife, NWT. You are an innovative leader who is able to build positive working relationships within a diverse group of government and public officials. You possess strong organizational, interpersonal and negotiating skills. You are self-motivated, enjoy a complex, changing environment and can manage numerous projects on tight deadlines.

Requirements:

  • A post-secondary degree in natural sciences (eg Biology, Ecology)
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to implement, analyze and understand major policy-related issues facing the natural resource and conservation sectors.
  • Knowledge of principles or practices associated with land use or conservation planning and monitoring the effects of development on the biophysical environment would be an asset
