Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), the leader in wetland conservation, is seeking a highly motivated student to fill the summer position of Wetland Conservation Technician in The Pas, Manitoba.

Duties may include:

Day-to-day operation and maintenance of DUC’s water control structures, assisting with engineering and biological inspections, data entry and various other duties. This position involves physical work, heavy lifting and outdoor work in all weather conditions. Experience with boats, chainsaws, working near water and GPS skills will be considered assets.

At DUC, we’re going places. You need to be an enthusiastic team player – a self-starter who can work with anyone and is dedicated to conservation.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
  • Pleasure Craft Operator Card
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Familiar with MS Excel and Word
  • Available for work May 1, 2012 to August 31, 2012
  • This position is based on funding where the successful candidate must be a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year
  • Preferred education: Natural Resource Management, Engineering Technology, Engineering Technician, or similar post-secondary education
