IMPORTANT:  This Advertiser has requested that applicants MUST be National Residents / Valid Work Permit-holders.  Other applicants need not apply.

 

Conducting surveys of migratory songbirds at stop-over sites in Fairfield and New Haven counties, including measuring distribution and abundance of birds as well as recording the specific plants in which migrating birds are feeding; conducting vegetation surveys; recruiting, training and coordinating volunteers to assist with songbird surveys; and data management.

Reports to Michelle Frankel, Conservation Biologist, and also works with the Director of Bird Conservation and IBA Coordinator.

Works with Audubon chapter members and helps to recruit, train and coordinate volunteers.

Applicant must have excellent bird and plant identification skills, experience managing data sets, strong interpersonal skills to motivate and work with volunteers, and have strong organizational skills.
