Gulf Restoration Senior Coordinator

Description

National Wildlife Federation is seeking a Gulf Restoration Senior Coordinator to advocate for NWF’s restoration priorities with the Federal Government. This person will work with the on the ground restoration coordinators in FL, MS, AL, and TX, and assist the overall Gulf restoration campaign director.  If you are a well organized, strategic thinker who is passionate about protecting wildlife for our children’s future…. we want YOU!

Responsibilities:

  • Help define what comprehensive restoration should be for the entire Gulf and advocating for that vision to the Federal Government.
  • Work with the on the ground consultants and Gulf Restoration Director to recommend existing and indentify new on the ground projects that will lead to a restored, resilient Gulf.
  • Assist with research to develop and highlight priority restoration areas and initiatives with the Gulf.
  • Coordinate with the Coastal Louisiana restoration team. Including preparing documents, letters, position statements, and fact sheets reflecting NWF’s restoration goals for the Gulf.

 Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 year’s progressively responsible experience developing and implementing advocacy campaigns, grassroots organizing, media, and environmental advocacy.

Experience:

  • Knowledge of how Federal Executive Branch agencies work.
  • Strategic thinker, well organized, and strong communicator.
  • Demonstrated ability to set goals and meet deadlines
  • Must possess ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Knowledge of Gulf issues a plus
