Description  

We are recruiting 2 new staff members to help to supplement the Grounds maintenance team in the 2 areas of on-site accommodation.

Working 20 hours per week from 6am to 10am, Monday to Friday on a fixed-term, 1 year contract.

Salary will be pro-rated and will range from £9,871-£11,667 per annum.

Your role will be primarily within the student villages and it will be your responsibility to ensure that these areas are well presented at all times. Your main duty will be to ensure the village is free from all litter, bins are emptied and kept clean, cigarettes picked up, doorways and entrances swept etc and to carry out early site inspections.

You will be responsible for the external asset management within your section and for reporting damage and defects to the Grounds Manager. You will also be required to assist trained horticulturalists with seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, planting, hedge cutting, mulching and when necessary for helping with gritting and snow clearance of the campus.

You will require a strong interest in horticulture, an understanding of seasonal task requirements in grounds management and have exceptional time management skills. We are looking for a reliable, organized, hardworking individual who will be required to have a good level of fitness due to physical demands of the role. You will need good written and verbal communication as the role will involve completing check sheets and work sheets on a regular basis.
