The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) is the largest international wetland conservation charity in the UK. Our mission is to promote, protect and develop wetlands and their wildlife. WWT operates nine visitor centres in the UK aimed at bringing people closer to wetland wildlife.

WWT Slimbridge now wishes to appoint a practical and creative grounds manager to be responsible for all aspects of the grounds management of our 100 acre site.  Slimbridge centre is also currently undergoing a major development project which requires close liaison with our centre development team to maximise the project’s vision.

The post carries responsibility for the staff, budget and administration of the multi-disciplined grounds department as well as the core horticulture and general maintenance of the grounds which also incorporates the welfare and husbandry of the avian and animal collections.

You will be qualified in an appropriate discipline with demonstrable experience in a similar role, possibly through working in a nature reserve, park or zoo environment. The ability to effectively manage your team and prioritise your workload, and those of others, is a vital part of this role.  Housing may be available.
