IMPORTANT:  This Advertiser has requested that applicants MUST be National Residents / Valid Work Permit-holders.  Other applicants need not apply.

 

One volunteer position is available on a Ph.D. project investigating ecology of grizzly bears in response to mining development. This is a sensational opportunity to obtain experience in a large carnivore project, and not have to pay for it! Previous relevant field experience and a clean driver record are assets. Plant id skills preferred.

Essential:
love the outdoors
ability for extensive hikes in rugged terrain
keen eye for detail
strong work ethic
sense of humour

Responsibilities:
investigations of sites previously visited by grizzly bears
vegetation plot surveys
radio-tracking

Accommodation: You have to provide personal camping gear.

Eligibility: Undergraduate student or recent graduate, with a relevant degree in biological or environmental sciences

Position dates: September 20-October 31, 2008
