The Green Schools Committees Winter/Spring Associate will support the administrative details of several components of USGBC’s largest Chapter-based initiative, including customer service and volunteer coordination for a large annual meeting, annual grant program, and quarterly reporting. Overall responsibilities will include: coordinating travel and expenses of up to 70 guests at annual meeting; collection and analysis of reports for annual grant program; collection and analysis of quarterly reports from USGBC’s network of 79 Chapters nationwide; and other ongoing customer-service-like support for volunteer network. Each of these tasks is critical to the ongoing and long term success of the Green Schools Committee program, which is an integral component of the work of the Center for Green Schools. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, flexibility in working with a variety of internal and external partners, ability to work against hard deadlines, creativity in problem solving, and a friendly but assertive disposition. The Green Schools Committee Winter/Spring Associate will have a front row seat to the inner workings of a national grassroots campaign. About Green Schools Committees USGBC Chapter Green Schools Committees (GSCs) contribute to achieving the vision of the Center for Green Schools: to bring green schools to all students within this generation. Through more than 168,000 hours volunteered annually, GSCs assist their communities with on-the-ground and in-the-trenches support of green schools through information, tools and resources.
