Grassroots Marketing Assistant – Memphis, TN
Part-Time

 

Job Responsibility: To support the Regional Directors, volunteers and other staff in their fundraising efforts by assisting in the development and execution of creative writing and design projects in addition to providing administrative support.  The Grassroots Marketing Assistant position interacts with various National Headquarters departments as well as field staff.  A Grassroots Marketing Assistant must be able to work with multiple Regional Directors, Directors of Fundraising and Volunteer Relations, Department Managers and volunteers. 

 

Primary Responsibilities

Data Entry
        Volunteer Requests
        Daily batches      
        Maintenance of volunteer records
        Maintenance of various sales and promotional databases

Administrative Support
        Manage letter campaign to various DU volunteers and staff
        Daily filing of field support related documents
        Maintain DU university chapter database
        Monitor university chapter Facebook pages and communicate with volunteers as needed
        Manage Grassroots department mass mailings as needed
        Provide secretarial support in Grassroots department related meetings

Creative Writing
        Write articles for DU magazine and various publications as needed
        Letter composition on behalf of DU Grassroots department
        Write and/or edit articles for state volunteer newsletters
        Draft emails to Field Staff as needed
        Proofread and edit various documents
        Assist in the creation, design and publication of Grassroots marketing campaigns

Creative Design Projects
        Design, assemble and distribute monthly state volunteer newsletters
        Construct marketing collateral for large scale DU events
        Assist with copy and design of advertisements

Special Projects
        Maintain monthly promotional campaigns
        Consistently evaluate programs for efficiency and effectiveness
        Assist in facilitation of Preferred Vendor programs
        Create social media tutorials for Regional Directors
        Carryout demographics report for various advertising campaigns
        Present at Grassroots staff meetings and other gatherings
        Assist in the solicitation and vetting of approved outfitter services
        Collect and compile training materials for new Regional Directors

Qualifications Required:  Interested applicants should have a four year degree, the ability to work in a corporate setting and excellent customer service skills.  The ideal candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills that align well in a team atmosphere.  Applicants need proficient skills in basic Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Adobe Writer, Facebook and the ability to work within the Ducks Unlimited database once properly trained.  Position requires above average typing and data entry skills.
