ABOUT GRANTS WRITER
In this newly created position reporting to the Manager of Development and Communications, the Grants Writer will write proposals and assist in development activities to support CCAP’s Development and Communications Department. The Grants Writer also will research prospective foundations, track our outreach and coordinate and support the grant seeking work of organization. Emphasis will be centered on corporate and foundation stewardship, and support from United States government, European governments and non-governmental institutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct research on development prospects, including corporate, charitable foundations and government grants;
• Conduct web research for the organization’s fundraising needs and sources;
• Develop, draft and edit proposals for compliance and readability, progress reports and associated financial data in cooperation with finance staff; 
• Provide progress reports to Manager of Development and Communications.
• Maintain comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date files, records and systems.
• Assist with the development of proposal budgets and review of financial reports.
• Assist with the drafting of new grant press releases, web content, and newsletter items related to development, as requested;
• Maintain donor database to assure data integrity and maximum utilization of program functionality.  Manage maintenance of queries and reporting as needed;
• Provide assistance with research, identification, cultivation and solicitation of donors;
• Generate correspondence, including donor acknowledgement letters and event related correspondence;
• Assist with fundraising activities including data requests and special events;
• Other projects as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
•     At least two years experience writing grants and grant reports.
•     A fast, clear and excellent writer.
•     Outstanding organizational, tracking and systems skills.
•     Excellent multi-tasking ability, problem-solving skills and positive attitude towards challenges.
•     Strong verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
•     Ability to orchestrate involvement of staff.
•     Computer skills, including proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office and databases.
•     Experience with key foundation funders in the environment, economics and energy arena a significant plus. Familiarity with acquiring United States government grants and European government and agency grants a plus.
