Description

About Us:

The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), a charity founded in 1826, is a world-renowned centre of excellence for conservation science and applied conservation. ZSL’s mission is to promote and achieve the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. This is realised by carrying out field conservation and research in over 50 countries across the globe and through education and awareness-raising at our two zoos, ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, inspiring people to take conservation action.

Overview of Position:

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our Operations Team within the Conservation Programmes department.  Reporting to the Operations Manager, the post holder will work with staff based in both the UK and overseas, providing financial support with budget management and financial reporting. They will be relied upon to co-ordinate the processing of payment requests and expense reconciliations, ensuring that paperwork submitted to the finance department is audit worthy and that Conservation personnel follow ZSL policy and procedures whilst meeting donor requirements.

Person Specification:

  • The post holder should have extensive experience of working in a similar administrative role with an emphasis on finance, preferably within an NGO/charity setting.
  • AAT or similar accounting qualification would be advantageous.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills are essential to successfully fulfilling this busy and demanding role.

Please note: The position will be based at ZSL’s offices in London. The position is full time and permanent and the start date will be as soon as possible. The salary is dependent on experience and skills.

To Apply:

Applicants should send a completed Equality of Opportunity Monitoring Form, ZSL Application form, CV and a Covering Letter detailing relevant experience and skills and stating why they want the position, by email to hr@zsl.org. We regret that we will only be able to contact applicants who have been selected for interview.

Closing Date: Midnight Sunday 5th July 2015.
