The Organization Panthera, founded in 2006, is the world’s leading organization devoted exclusively to the conservation of wild cats and their ecosystems. Utilizing the expertise of the world’s premier cat biologists, Panthera develops and implements global conservation strategies for the most imperiled large cats – tigers, lions, jaguars, cheetahs and snow leopards. Representing the most comprehensive effort of its kind, Panthera works in partnership with local and international NGOs, scientific institutions, local communicates and governments. Panthera’s Grant Writer Panthera seeks a full-time Grant Writer to be based in New York City. The position will be focused primarily on writing funding proposals and detailed reports for Panthera’s Development Department, as well as contributing to the identification, solicitation, and stewardship of new funding sources. The position will also contribute to other writing needs especially for popular articles and related media. The incumbent will have extensive familiarity with conservation issues, and will be required to become extremely familiar with Panthera’s field programs entailing travel to field sites. The position will report to the Director of Development and work closely with Panthera field staff, to help grow Panthera’s fundraising capacity. Essential duties include:
