The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks a Grant Specialist in our Advancement Department, located in Charlestown NH.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Writes compelling and accurate letters of intent, proposals, reports, correspondence, and stewardship materials
  • Works in conjunction with the Assistant Director for Grants to maintain and/or progress to the highest quality writing and to ensure that written materials meet SCA’s standards
  • Works with Advancement, Partnership Development and Program colleagues to cultivate, solicit and steward leadership donors, with a focus on institutions.  This includes participating in prioritizing and growing SCA’s prospect pool; identifying and researching institutional leadership donors/prospects; and establishing and maintaining relationships
  • Compiles, archives and shares with colleagues the latest and most accurate program-related information and statistics in conjunction with the Director of Institutional Relations
  • Pursues grant opportunities when and where appropriate

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience
  • Three-to-five years’ fundraising or equivalent experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills required; writing sample will be required
  • Extraordinary level of attention to detail necessary
  • Mission-driven work ethic and an understanding of the deadline-driven demands of a nonprofit work environment a must
  • Self-starter who can work well in a team environment
    Familiarity with MSOffice products is essential, and Raiser’s Edge, preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and MVR that meets SCA standards required
