The GRAND RIVER PROJECT MANAGER is a three-year, full-time, exempt position based in Painesville, Ohio. The Project Manager provides leadership for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative project ‘Invasive Plant Prevention and Control, Grand River Watershed’ focused in the Grand River watershed. Working with Conservancy staff and project partners, the Project Manager develops strategic invasive plant control plans aimed at abating threats to the Grand River main stem and priority tributaries and wetlands. The Project Manager promotes cross-site learning and engages landowners and the general public in a watershed approach to implementing invasive species inventory and control. The Project Manager directs all aspects of the project and in this capacity supervises seasonal field staff. S/he serves as the principal contact for the Grand River GLRI project to partners, land owners, the general public, and media. This position reports to the Northeast Ohio Preserves Manager and coordinates efforts with project partners. The Grand River Project Manager has the following responsibilities:
• Develops strategic invasive plant control plans • Leads the implementation of project plans • Facilitates communication and implementation with project partners • Coordinates and supervises the work of the project field staff • Develops and implements outreach strategies • Prepares and submits all required EPA reporting documents • Coordinates community support relating to project • Manages grant budget and all equipment purchasing • Maintains tools and equipment
