Job Description

We are currently seeking an Intern for our Carbon Management Team based in our London office.  As part of the Carbon Management team, the Post Holder will work within the area of Utility Account Management. The role will involve learning and providing the skills associated with Utility Account Management and Utility Procurement, including the creation of utility account tendering documentation, issuing and tracking progress of tenders, Supplier liaison and other administrative duties within the team.  Key work areas shall include:-

  • Utility invoice examination and interpretation.
  • Utility supply contract tendering.
  • Monitoring and managing progress of tenders.
  • Analysis of tender returns.
  • Supplier and client invoicing.

The successful candidate shall also support the operation of the Carbon Management team in a variety of areas on an as required basis.  This may include data manipulation for various carbon foot printing or Carbon Reduction Commitment calculations.  The successful candidate will be self confident and be able to build working relationships with clients and suppliers alike.

Required Skills

IT packages including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and MS Outlook.

  • Appropriate degree in a numerical or built environment discipline.
  • Ability to accurately input data into software programmes.
  • Ability to manipulate the in-house Carbon software programme with training.
  • An aptitude and interest in the built environment.
  • Well organized and be able to prioritize own workload with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to accurately measure and record data relating to buildings.
  • Understanding of utility metering and ability to interpret readings.
  • Numerically competent.
  • Strong communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Good client awareness skills and an ability to identify their needs
  • Report writing skills.
  • A level in a mathematic based subjects.
