Primary Job Responsibilities

 

As a graduate planner and / or environmental scientist you will be working on a range of projects for the private and public sectors. You’re main responsibilities will be, although not restricted to, assisting senior colleagues in the development of planning applications, EIAs, SEAs and route corridor / site selection studies for a variety of projects ranging from applications for local development sites through to major infrastructure projects.

 

You will be expected to work effectively on your own as well as part of a team and demonstrate an ability to use your own initiative.

 

As a junior member of our team we do not expect you to know everything and will provide training and support while you build your experience. However, you will be a problem solver who is able to approach new / unfamiliar scenarios with at least the confidence to make a start and ask us the right questions.

     
Training and Experience    
     
   

Essential

 

 

  • Degree in relevant discipline
  • Understanding of the planning / EIA / SEA process in theUK
  • Confident with proven interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

 

Desirable

 

 

  • Post graduate degree in appropriate discipline
  • Experience of working in environmental consultancy
  • Graduate membership or above of RTPI or IEMA
  • Welsh Speaker
  • Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project software or statistical packages
