We are currently looking to recruit for a number of positions within our Energy and Sustainability Group to work alongside our current team of consultants in our Reading office.

We are looking for candidates with experience in one or more areas of sustainability appraisals of land development projects, low carbon energy assessments, decentralised energy in the urban environment, renewable energy generation, energy masterplanning. 

This is a multifaceted role and will suit individuals who can successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously. Primarily working in the land development sector our clients include house builders and commercial developers in addition to a number of blue chip corporations.

Key responsibilities / duties will include:

  • Taking the lead on the collection, verification and analysis of planning related energy and sustainability policy;
  • Working closely with the team lead in developing and maintaining energy demand models;
  • Working knowledge of Building Regulations (including SAP) and Government’s Zero Carbon Homes agenda;
  • Good knowledge of renewable energy technologies and their use in the built environment;
  • Lead on writing technical energy and sustainability reports for planning applications;
  • Assisting the wider environment team in cultivating, driving, implementing and supporting environmental and sustainability projects.

Capabilities and Qualifications

The successful individual will require:

  • Degree in science related field with excellent data management ability including strong excel experience
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Working knowledge of GIS is essential
  • Proven experience of working on environmental, energy and sustainability projects
  • Very strong understanding of current energy and sustainability issues facing businesses
  • A passion for excellence and ambition to grow and develop a career within the energy and sustainability space
  • The role will involve the communication of complex ideas throughout the organisation; the ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders is essential. Exceptional attention to detail and strong presentation skills are also required.
