Description

Rydon, in collaboration with the University of Brighton

Salary £22,000

Are you a recent graduate, interested in working for a company that operates both as a building contractor and as a building developer?

Rydon, in collaboration with the University of Brighton, is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated graduate to play a major role in a strategic two-year product development and design project, which will establish a working model and knowledge base to enable low carbon refurbishment of existing domestic properties.

Rydon based in Forest Row, East Sussex run construction projects which include, urban regeneration, refurbishment, PFI (health and education), and LIFT schemes (health), social housing partnerships, cross subsidy and property maintenance. A significant proportion of its income is generated from domestic refurbishment work as part of the governments ‘Decent Homes’ programme.

This opportunity, as part of the government’s Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme, will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work in a leading edge development environment. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to register for a funded MSc degree as part of this project if relevant.

Key attributes: Bachelors degree at 2:1 or above in an appropriate subject such as Building Services, Sustainable Energy, Environmental Auditing or Sustainable Building Technology, as well as an ambition for spearheading a new development project. A higher technical degree would be an advantage, as would a relevant industrial placement or other industrial experience.

The Package:  Early responsibility for a high profile project in a leading company, a generous dedicated personal development budget and the opportunity to register for a funded higher degree where appropriate.

An application form and further details about the post are available below.
