Position

Are you passionate about marine species identification and love being in the laboratory with your microscope? If so, then we would be delighted to hear from you!

We have an opportunity for a Graduate Marine Biologist to join our team in Guildford. As part of our marine team, you will be involved in benthic faunal sample analysis for a variety of exciting projects from both the UK and abroad. You will be given the opportunity to learn taxonomic identification skills from world experts and will become involved in other areas such as Particle Size Analysis. You will be either a recent graduate or have worked in a laboratory already.



Requirements

You will need to have:

  • a degree in Marine Biology or a related subject.
  • the ability to work to the pressures of a commercial laboratory.
  • an enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn.
  • work in our Guildford lab full time.

Ideally you may also have:

  • previous experience in benthic faunal sample processing
  • previous experience of Particle Size Analysis
  • previous experience of survey work

Other information

Shortlisted candidates will be expected to undertake a technical assessment to demonstrate their skills in identification of fauna.
