Description

We require a well-motivated, dynamic person to join our existing team for an initial fixed-term one-year appointment (with the potential for extension). The role does not require years of experience in all related aspects of our work, but we are looking for a candidate with an enthusiasm for environmental issues and an aptitude to learn and develop new skills.

You will be exposed to high profile contracts that will allow you to acquire new skills quickly. The role will involve the manipulation and analysis of spatial data, the application of spatial models, producing creative, high quality graphical output and the opportunity to develop skills outside of these core areas in applications such as Microsoft Access and statistics packages. Training will be provided for the successful candidate.

The role is within the successful Environment Group, delivering policy support and implementation through Environmental Modelling, GIS and Decision Support Systems to a wide range of commercial and Government clients.

  • Degree in Environmental or Geographical Sciences or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • A keen interest in rural / environmental issues
  • Numerical analyses / report writing
  • Knowledge of GIS packages (preferably ESRI ArcGIS)

  • Experience of programming and / or environmental modelling
  • A flair for creative design with an eye for detail
