Introduction

Our client is looking for a Graduate Engineer / Ground Investigation Engineer with some previous experience to join their Site Investigation services team, part of their Geosciences Group, based at their Warrington office.

The Job

Reporting to the Senior Engineer / Project Manager, you will be accountable for supervising site investigation work on a wide range of civil engineering projects. The position is a UK site based role requiring long periods of site supervision work (walkovers, ground investigation supervision and construction supervision when necessary onsite in the UK) where you will work very closely with existing site investigation senior team members.

To be considered for this role you will have:

• Relevant Geoscience degree – M.Sc. Preferred

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
• Performing required activities associated with projects (ground investigation, site & laboratory testing, analysis)
• Preparing and registering all relevant health and safety documentation and SI reports and ensuring that all documentation is current, accurate and in compliance with our clients requirements and project specifications
• Manage – undertake site monitoring service and over time small ground investigation projects, provide technical direction, and undertake the logging of trial pits, borehole and samples
• Accurately compile borehole logs, monitoring and other site data to BS and Eurocode standards
• Gaining awareness of, and familiarity with, the commercial aspects of projects to develop commercial skills
• Acquire knowledge and practical skills to gain Chartership or equivalent
• Developing innovative and entrepreneurial thinking and behaviour
• Keep up-to-date with technical standards for the industry
