The Graduate Developer is a Graduate with a Degree in an Engineering, Science or related field. The candidate will be a member of the Chile Development team and will be responsible for supporting development activities in our Chile wind and solar project development business including market analysis, site identification, and project management of development projects.

 

Purpose of the Job

 

  • Support the Chile Development team in the identification of new wind and solar sites
  • Support the Chile Development team in the project management to full consent of existing wind and solar projects and specifically the following development activities:
    • Health and Safety
    • Land acquisition
    • Energy analysis
    • Environmental Studies
    • Permitting
    • Grid connection
  • Develop standardized procedures for various stages of wind and solar project development
  • Understand and become proficient in the use of standard development tools and systems:
    • GIS and other mapping tools and software
    • Fatal flaw analysis
    • Constraint mapping
  • Understand and become proficient in the use of standard project control tools:
    • Microsoft Project
    • Risk and issue logs
    • Action logs and minutes of meetings
    • Project Budgets (in Excel)

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide development support to assigned Senior Project Manager:
    • Land acquisition
    • GIS cartography
    • Site screening
    • Community and stakeholder mapping
    • Creating buildable areas
    • Creating preliminary solar and wind layouts
    • Communicating with the energy analysis, engineering, construction, finance teams
  • Provide project controls support to assigned Senior Project Manager:
    • Maintain project schedule for assigned projects
    • Maintain project risk and issue logs for assigned projects
    • Maintain action log / minutes of meetings for assigned projects
  • Maintain Health & Safety plans for assigned projects
  • Own and maintain the project website for assigned projects

 

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience

 

The candidate will have a minimum of a Degree in an Engineering, Science or related field. The candidate will have the following key skills;

 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish
  • The ability to work in a team with colleagues and external consultants
  • Strong initiative and the ability to proactively identify required tasks
  • Ability to understand technical material and communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Proficiency in design and cartography software such as GIS, AutoCad, ArcView and Global Mapper would be an advantage but not essential
  • Excellent IT skills and experience with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Sharepoint
