The Government Relations team at The Wilderness Society (TWS) is seeking highly motivated individuals to join us for our Fall 2015 internship session. Our team is dedicated and passionate about protecting wild places across the US. We are responsible for the public advocacy of TWS’s agenda. Our priority campaigns include work on wilderness designation, conservation funding, and responsible energy development on public lands. The GR team manages legislative and regulatory strategy, issue positioning, Executive Branch and Congressional outreach and education, appropriations matters, strategic communications, and builds grassroots support for the protection and management of public lands. The Government Relations team offers unpaid internships to students enrolled in an accredited education institution, who wish to gain firsthand experience working closely with dedicated staff on public lands issues. These opportunities will allow the student to gain credit for his or her work as required, or at a minimum, continue his or her education while managing the following responsibilities: Internship Responsibilities
