The Ramblers is looking to recruit a skilled and experienced individual to oversee the management of governance matters within the chief executive officers office for The Ramblers Association limited and its subsidiary, Ramblers Enterprises limited.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • supporting the CEO in management of cross GB governance issues

  • direct responsibility for ensuring that the board of trustees, all sub committees, executive committees and general council operate efficiently and effectively in accordance with the articles and standing orders

This is a new role that you will be able to shape. We are looking for a mature and experienced individual who is keen to work closely with the senior management team and board of trustees to ensure the Ramblers governance remains fit for the future

You will be able to demonstrate the following key knowledge, skills and expertise:

  • Qualified company secretary

  • Ability to understand governance arrangements

  • Experience of management of annual councils/conferences

  • Experience of managing governance change in not for profit environments

  • Experience of working in governance for an organisation with a branch/devolved structure
  • Ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships with tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrable attention to detail and the needs of different audiences
  • Ability to travel and to spend evenings and weekends away from home
