Greenpeace is seeking an experienced Communications and Media professional to develop and coordinate global online and traditional communication strategies and creative concepts to transform global tuna markets, in support of Greenpeace’s campaign to end overfishing. This is a great opportunity to work with an amazing team of diverse professionals in Greenpeace offices around the world and address primary threats facing our oceans.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Strategic direction and communication design

Advise the overfishing campaign on the formulation and execution of Greenpeace’s strategic direction and communication design across multiple platforms, including visuals, traditional media, digital technologies, and creative confrontation.

2.  Global Communication Strategy

Lead and coordinate the formulation, agreement and implementation of global innovative, pro-active and reactive campaign communication strategies. Coordinate rollout of material across Greenpeace offices around the world in order to provide a high level of media (traditional and non-traditional) exposure internationally in support of our campaign to end overfishing. 

3.  Inter-office Coordination

Build relationships with and support diverse international teams to ensure the global communication strategy is supported by national and regional offices and implemented accordingly in different regions of the world.

4.  External Network

Maintain overview and coordinate the development of external international networks with key allies, political fora, industry, NGOs, public, social media, online influencers, PR firms, and traditional media in order to enable maximum influence in external world. 

5. Alignment on policy

Ensure all communication material produced by Greenpeace offices is consistent with editorial policies and identity guidelines across all platforms.

Skills required / qualifications

 Required:

  • Bachelors/Masters degree or equivalent
  • At least 5 years professional experience in Communications
  • Proven success in campaign based media outreach, marketing and branding, and fundraising
  • Expertise in online platforms and tools such as Convio, Wordpress, Facebook, Twitter, Google Analytics, etc.
  • Experience in working in international environment and coordination of rollouts across global markets
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and cross-cultural and geographically distributed teams
  • Articulate, creative, and passionate, with excellent written and spoken English
