Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership to the SGS Climate Change Programme, driving profitable growth for the programme.
Reporting to
SVP, Environmental ServicesSpecific responsibilities
1. Prepare and implement the development of the Climate Change Programme.
2. Oversee existing and future accreditations for different GHG programs (Kyoto, EU ETS, ISO 14064, Country specific inventory programs, PAS 2050 and other product/service GHG supply chain verification standards)
3. Manage budget for SGS global business development and accreditations held globally
4. Select and hire direct reports, assist local management in the identification of dotted line reports
5. Represent SGS at international conferences and exhibitions
6. Respond to journalists and actively promote SGS services through articles in relevant publications
7. Negotiate framework contracts with key clients and be overall key account manager, interface between key clients and SGS legal
8. Assure SGS general terms and conditions for new and existing CCP services minimize SGS risk exposure and without reducing SGS competitiveness
Profile
•Masters degree in engineering or social sciences
•Extensive knowledge of climate initiatives and of carbon markets
•Experience in working with procedurally driven management systems
•5 years of management experience with staff responsibility, preferably on international level
•Excellent command of spoken and written English
