SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS                  

The individual will coordinate aggregation of individual demand inputs into a consensus demand plan and facilitate the monthly Consensus Demand Plan approval meeting.  This person will represent demand planning in all supply-demand balancing processes and operations; including developing and executing the S&OP plan.  He or she will also be responsible for creation of the consolidated demand plan and direct continuous improvement initiatives focused on streamlining planning processes and reducing non-value-add activities.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Lead a team of global demand planners (once hired) to manage the global demand plan and associated processes 
  • Create a single voice for demand management that represents Supply Chain & Logistics and drives true collaboration with business units, projects, finance and other functions; Maintain and enhance internal and external relationships
  • Drive demand planning improvement initiatives to fruition and results; champion change and continuous process improvement
  • Drive the aggregation of multiple sources of demand data to develop an unconstrained demand plan; Ensure accurate translation of individual demand signals into global demand plans
  • Represent Supply Chain in key customer collaborative planning activities and strive to improve demand quality through this process
  • Define and develop mechanisms to collect and manage demand planning metrics
  • Manage development of new processes and capabilities in the areas of demand planning and forecasting

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Superb facilitation and people skills; proven ability to lead executive-level individuals through decision-making processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to gather data and use statistics for analysis
  • Proven record of successfully driving organizational change
  • Workshop and meeting facilitation of large groups
  • Experience in participating in or conducting demand planning meetings
  • Self-starter with excellent organization skills
  • Experience with demand planning/forecasting applications – SAP APO, Oracle Demantra etc. preferably as a user
  • Expert in the use of Excel and Access
  • Aptitude to define operational requirements and implement processes and systems to support those requirements
  • 8 – 12 years experience in Operations, Sales, Sales Operations, Finance or Supply Chain Planning; minimum 5 years experience in a management role
  • BA or BS degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or Operations; MBA preferred
  • APICS certification preferred
