Employer: Melton Borough Council Interview Date: Wednesday 16th October Telephone Interviews, Week Commencing: 30th September. The telephone interviews will be short and fairly informal. Closing Date: Sunday 29th September Start Date: ASAP Length of Opportunity: Permanent Hours/Week: 18.5 Work outside normal hours: Only on an exceptional basis, by agreement. Base: Melton Borough Council Department: Regulatory Services Reports to: Jennifer Wallis Background: The post holder will be responsible for assisting the delivery of the Council’s Development Control, Licensing, Building Control and Enforcement Services, with particular responsibility for the GIS databases that underpin these service areas. Objectives: 1) To contribute to the Council’s corporate policies and strategies, working with officers from all departments of the council. 2) To assist in the implementation of the Council’s corporate and strategic approach to service delivery. 3) To implement a customer focussed approach towards the provision of the Council’s services. Outputs: 1) To work closely with all the Council officers and managers so as to achieve maximum results within performance management targets. 2) To maximise the outcomes from applications to deliver to Council priorities and wider planning objectives. 3) To participate in the production of regular detailed management information. 4) To deliver Services in accordance with the Councils corporate approach to service delivery and working practises. 5) Ensure compliance with all relevant Council policies, statutes and regulations insofar they relate to the activity within the scope of the post. 6) To ensure that the Council always operates within the law and that its statutory responsibilities are properly discharged.
