We are looking for an experienced GIS Technician to join the team in our Cambridge office. Supporting the GIS Manager you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the GIS and Data Systems. Working alongside the Ecology team, you will also be responsible for undertaking field surveys, site assessments and report writing.
A brief description of your duties will include:
• Production of graphical output, maps and figures
• Data handling and analysis
• Assimilate complex information and incorporate then into reports.
• Undertake background research for projects
The successful candidate will hold a degree or equivalent in GIS and have knowledge of ArcGis. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and have the ability to identify technical solutions in relation to GIS, Spatial Analysis and Data Management. You will hold a UK driving licence and be willing to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time in order to undertake field surveys.
Ideally, you will have an interest in Ecology and knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Access and SQL would be a distinct advantage.
