DUCKS UNLIMITED, INC. -- the leader in wetlands conservation -- has exciting opportunities for professionals with GIS and natural resources expertise.  DU has been using advanced GIS and remote sensing technologies since 1984 to manage the complex issues in wetland and waterfowl management, land-use planning, and environmental conservation.  The GIS Intern position will be based in our Great Lakes/Atlantic Regional Office inAnn Arbor,Michigan, and requires GIS experience with ESRI products and a background in natural resources/wildlife/wetlands. 

DU has an immediate need for someone to work with a team of GIS professionals to update the National Wetlands Inventory for theGreat Lakesand assist with the National Conservation Easement Database.   The successful GIS Intern should have experience with wetland classification, photo interpretation, GIS, and field data collection.  Other responsibilities may include:  assisting with a variety of GIS projects using datasets throughout theGreat Lakesand Eastern Coastal region, assembling metadata; supporting project biologists with mapping needs; and setup and maintenance of GIS systems.

The qualified applicant will be a self-motivated, conscientious individual who can work independently with minimal supervision, as well as communicate closely with Ducks Unlimited biologists and engineers.  We are looking for a person with a background in Natural Resources and experience in GIS.  Some experience with databases, wildlife management, ecology, and wetlands is preferred.
