GIS & DATA OFFICER GIS & Data OfficerHours of work - 37.5 hours per week (plus occasional weekend working - time in lieu given) Amphibian and Reptile Conservation is looking to recruit a GIS & Data Officer, with excellent GIS mapping skills, for a one-year contract initially, with the possibility of extension subject to available funding. To start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will assist our Science Programme Manager and will be responsible for GIS mapping and modelling products, the input of species data from ARC’s species monitoring programmes, entering data onto the Site Management Database and maintaining up-to-date records on volunteer surveys and licensing. You will be required to analyse data for monitoring, policy-guidance, reporting and dissemination purposes. Essential skills include exceptional organisational ability, data entry experience, experience with MS Office programmes (especially Excel and Access), and a high level of competency with GIS systems. Experience of species distribution and connectivity modelling using ArcGIS (and programmes such as MaxEnt, Conefor etc.) as well as mobile technology (iOS and/or Android apps) will be a distinct advantage.
