Job title - Get Growing Project Officer (Job Share). based in York, Yorkshire

Salary: £19,418 per annum (Pro Rota £7767)

BTCV is the UK’s leading practical conservation charity working with people from all sectors of the community in positive action to improve the environment.

This post will involve the management and delivery of the York Get Growing Project. Funded by the Big Lottery Fund’s Local Food programme and City of York Council the project aims to provide volunteering, learning and training opportunities in local food growing for adults, young people and children in the York area.

You will develop a team of Food Growing Mentors, organise food growing training course, work with community groups and schools to develop sustainable food growing / allotment projects together with establishing and maintaining a Get Growing web page. Partners include Edible York and The Ancient Society of York Florists.

Applicants should have a relevant qualification and good food growing experience. They will have good organisational, communication and budgetary skills, be able to organise and ideally deliver training courses on a variety of food growing topics as well as being able to motivate and support volunteers and groups.

A willingness to work outside normal office hours and some weekends is essential.

A full driving licence is required as the post holder has the shared use of a company vehicle.
