Specific Responsibilities include:
Update and prepare GIS based maps that support Living Oceans Society’s campaigns and projects.
Produce presentation quality maps, for web and/or print.
Research potential data sources, request and/or retrieve spatial data from repositories.
Prepare GIS metadata.
Perform regular back-ups.
Catalogue existing reference materials.
Qualifications:
Educational/Technical Requirements
Some training in Geographic Information Systems, especially ESRI products, is required.
Clearly demonstrated basic skills in ArcView.
Experience with ArcInfo, Spatial Analyst, or 3D Analyst are assets.
Interest and/or post secondary education in science; Geography/Biology/Ecology/Environmental Studies is preferred.
Ability to take direction, organize your day-to-day tasks, meet deadlines and work effectively as part of a team.
