General Manager, Business Group

The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) is a Crown Entity that works to improve New Zealanders' energy choices in business, in the home and on the road.

How we use energy is of vital importance to increasing New Zealand's productivity, improving the welfare of New Zealanders, and meeting international climate change obligations. This senior management role will help influence New Zealand's economic and environmental future.

In this role you will lead engagement with the business community to enable significant energy savings across multiple industries. This will require a range of capabilities including:

• Relationship skills and networks to work with business leaders, large energy users, industry representatives and lobby groups;
• Well-honed communication skills, enabling proactive engagement with the business community;
• Capacity to raise awareness and gain commitment to energy management as a high priority business issue;
• Commercial acumen to develop programme strategy, funding and delivery and the ability to work with and build capacity of third party providers.

This role could be Wellington or Auckland based and will report directly to the Chief Executive.

Your senior management background will demonstrate leadership and vision, the proven ability to work collaboratively, influence decision makers, effectively manage mid-sized, multi-disciplinary teams and deliver results.
