Gearbox and Drive Train Engineer, South Korea

My client is a part of one of the worlds largest companies in the world. They have a market presence across a wide range of sectors and is a major player in the international market. They are developing new technology to rival their main competitors in the wind industry and are looking to ensure that they secure the best talent in order to achieve this.

Position Overview:

My client is currently looking for a Gearbox and Drive train engineer to work as a manager in the Mechanic Design team in South Korea. You will act as a technical leader in the drive train division and report directly to the department head internationally playing a major role in the development process internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• ·         Responsible for gearbox and drive train design concept including optimization of arrangement and specification, bearing configuration and main frame and housing structure
• ·         Ability to optimize gearbox housing structure design
• ·         You will be responsible for the interfacing between drive train components
• ·         Strength analysis of all drive train components
• ·         Dynamic analysis for gearbox and drivetrain by components leading your team in the development and consideration of all factors

Education:

Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree minimum.

Core Requirements:-

• •         5-10 years experience in drivetrain engineering field
• •         Experience working for a top ten manufacturer of wind turbines
• •         2-4 years experience minimum of senior management experience
• •         Expert knowledge in gear design commercial software including (Romax designer, KISS soft, LDP) and dynamic analysis software including (ADAMS, SIMPACK or similar)

General Requirement

• •         A strong desire to work to the highest quality and standards in order to maintain the reputation of the company
• •         Fluent in English
• •         Exceptional management and organisations skills
• •         Ability to travel for extended periods of time
• •         Knowledge of related regulatory issues
• •         Ideally the candidate would be a member of relative professional institutions

Key Skills:-

Load calculation, engineering , wind engineers, wind turbine generators, manufacturer of wind turbine, structural analysis and general management experience.
