Gas Turbine Power Generation Construction Manager, Saudi Arabia/UAE Region

My client is a global engineering consultancy with over 200 offices around the world. Following continued growth and project pipeline through 2010, they are looking for a mechanical engineer with CCGT (combined cycle gas turbine) power plant expertise to join a high profile project based in the Middle East.

Working on a project based in Saudi Arabia or UAE, the role will require you to report into the Project Manager, but liaise with all internal / external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have key input into all aspects of the project, ranging from design, strategy, procurement, timeline and milestones, resources and quality control. You will also be involved in client level reporting (to board level), and have a key voice on the overall project management team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Take charge of the engineering , procurement and construction of the project
• Coordinate the design process of the gas modules to ensure the modules in line with the energy efficiency strategy
• Constantly inspect  the gas turbines  to ensure that they are in line to hit energy output targets
• Communicate with board level developer contacts and the leading EPC engineer so as to maintain relations between the two stakeholders
• Ensure that the project developer’s needs are met but are also aligned with project profitability at all times.

Requirements:

• MSc in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
• Extensive CCGT (combined cycle gas turbine) experience
• Problem solver – able to deliver solutions on time and budget
• Experience of projects in Saudi Arabia / UAE regions
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
