Description

The Royal Horticultural Society is dedicated to safeguarding and advancing the science and practice of horticulture. As a charity, the RHS aims to inspire a wide range of audiences by demonstrating the wonder of gardening through all that we do including gardens and shows, in our publications and online, and through our work in the community.

RHS Garden Rosemoor, nestled within encircling woodlands in the valley of the river Torridge in North Devon, is a garden whose varied character reflects the history of the site, local growing conditions and the characteristic style of West Country gardens. Alongside these elements a diverse and exciting garden has been created to fit within the pre-existing landscape of woodlands, fields and hedgerows. As one of two Garden Managers, you will be instrumental in implementing our plans for the garden and inspiring our curatorial teams to explore new ways of working and delivering our objectives. With main responsibilities for Lady Anne’s Garden, the arboretums and the productive section.

The right candidate for this role will need substantial horticultural knowledge and experience with a relevant horticultural qualification, coupled with demonstrable experience of managing and developing high performing teams. Able to undertake strategic and operational planning, you will be accustomed to problem solving and decision making, with a desire to deliver our charitable purpose in all that you do. You will have the ability to lead or work as part of a team.

Benefits include 25 days annual leave with an additional five days by arrangement and Group Personal Pension Plan.
