Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), Canada’s most trusted and respected wetland conservation organization, is looking for a dynamic, fun-loving manager to join our team in B.C. Please apply by May 15, 2011.

If you thrive on co-ordinating grassroots events including workplace and community fundraising initiatives, then Ducks wants to hear from you! Your exceptional communication skills, creativity and organizational skills will be put to good use while you manage a team of volunteers across your business area. You are innovative, adaptive to change, enjoy a fast-paced environment and you thrive on tight deadlines.

At Ducks, we’re going places. You need to be an enthusiastic team player – a self-starter who can work cross-functionally, is capable of taking calculated risks and enjoys thinking out of the box.

Your five years of experience in sales, marketing or business relations make you the ideal candidate for this position, which can be located from our Kamloops office or from your home in Kelowna or Merritt, B.C. You are a strong leader who can play with anyone in the schoolyard. Your ability to influence and guide people means you will grow our volunteer ranks easily. Your emotional intelligence and ability to see the bigger conservation picture will make you a great asset to our team.

Requirements:

  • A post-secondary education in sales, marketing or business.
  • Experience in staff management.
  • Ability to foster key relationships, experience in a cross-functional setting, proven success in building teams and demonstrated effectiveness in developing skills in employees.
  • Proven ability to recruit, retain and motivate people.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends and travel frequently throughout the business area.
  • Previous volunteer work and fundraising experience would be valuable.
  • Familiarity with the non-profit or environmental conservation sectors are definite assets.

How to Apply

In Canada we lose 80 acres of wetlands every 24 hours and we need your help to stop this loss. If you’re interested in this opportunity, please submit your cover letter including salary expectations and resumé for confidential consideration to the attention of:
