Fundraising Internship

We are seeking an ambitious, creative, resourceful, and dedicated individual that will expend greatly our individual and business contributors. The role focuses on raising funds from and building relationships with individual and business donors to extend and build on existing income streams. Business partners commit yearly donation to ESI (usually a fraction of their profit).

Our mission should be your mission at heart. You will be establishing new relationships and alliances with private business sector and high net worth individuals.

Profile and competences:

  • A college degree in related field and marketing experience.
  • Good communications, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively.
  • A strong desire to raise funds for biodiversity and conservation activities.
  • Some knowledge of a range of fundraising techniques, including foundations and trusts, government agencies and major donor development.
  • Energetic, resourceful, good strategic thinker but also willing and ready to take a hands-on role to transform plans into action.

This position starts as an intern/volunteer position for a duration of about 4-5 months (40 hrs. a week or less depending on applicant), and them our goal is to extend it to a paid position depending on fundraising performance that would allow us to create a permanent position.

A list of relevant businesses and high net worth individuals from U.S.A, U.K., and Canada will be developed by the candidate.  The candidate should propose and discuss innovative strategies to successfully increase the number of contributors. He/she will cultivate relationships with new members and donors through timely, relevant and impactful communications.

He/she is encouraged to work independently from home with little supervision but will maintain regular correspondence with ESI staff. He/she should have internet access for research and sending e-mails daily.  Frequent e-mail exchange, phone calls, and one to one meetings with ESI staff will be part of the job.
