We are currently looking for a new Fundraising Director to be based in one of the Nordic capital cities, preferably Stockholm, who can lead our 20 person fundraising team. We are looking to fill the position as soon as possible.

Manages: 20 fundraising staff

Location: Nordic capital city, preferably Stockholm

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: Depending on location and qualifications. In Sweden salary range starts at 40.000 SEK/month plus pension.

Greenpeace Nordic has around 100 office staff and offices in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.

Greenpeace Nordic's Fundraising Program

Greenpeace does not solicit or accept funding from governments, corporations or political parties and will not accept donations which could compromise its independence, aims, objectives or integrity. Greenpeace relies on the voluntary donations of individual supporters and on grant support from foundations. Greenpeace Nordic has approximately 160,000 donors across the Nordic region which includes Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. Most of these donors give by monthly direct debit and many of them were originally recruited through our Direct Dialogue (Face to Face) Fundraising program.

We also operate an extensive Telemarketing program to thank our donors, increase the level of giving, or win back donors who have stopped giving to Greenpeace. In addition we have an annual direct mail program and are working to increase our online reach.

Our fundraising income for 2012 (foundation support not included) is projected to be approximately 130 million SEK (14 million Euro).

The position

We are currently looking for a new Fundraising Director to be based in one of the Nordic capital cities, preferably Stockholm, who can lead our 20 person fundraising team. We are looking to fill the position as soon as possible.

General description/purpose of the role

To increase regional net fundraising income for Greenpeace Nordic. To ensure the effective integration of fundraising communications and campaigns strategies. To increase the number of supporters in Greenpeace Nordic while at the same time increasing the net fundraising income.To ensure that fundraising is based on a broad portfolio to secure long term income development.

Main areas of responsibility

Management
Lead, motivate and manage fundraising staff, in line with the organizational aims and objectives in order to ensure the effective performance of the unit and ensure staff development training and performance reviews takes place.

Fundraising budgets
Develop, monitor and authorise income and expenditure of the departmental budgets, according to agreed objectives and the priorities of the unit, in order to ensure cost effectiveness and strategic expenditure.

Strategic Fundraising Development
Oversee the ongoing long term development and implementation of the strategic fundraising, major donor opportunities and supporter mobilization with long term campaign objectives and strategies in order to maximize fundraising opportunities.

Campaign support
Oversee the integration of fundraising advice within Greenpeace campaigns in accordance with organizational and campaign objectives in order to ensure that these components consistently are applied within campaign projects.

Senior management team
Advise, as a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), on the formulation and execution of GP's strategic direction and programme design, in order to contribute to the realization of GP's overall objective in an integrate manner.

Person specification

? Broad experience in preferably fundraising or marketing obtained through a minimum of 5 years relevant practical experience and knowledge in various fundraising techniques. Has breadth of knowledge and expertise to provide functional direction.

? Academic qualification in marketing or economics or relevant professional experience and university degree in another subject.

? Proven leadership and management skills; ability to inspire and motivate people and provide vision, ability to manage individual performance and coaching individuals; has minimum of three years proven management experience working with teams of various skills, levels and languages and in different geographical locations.

? Is a strong decision maker, is able to show credible experience of making effective decisions in line with organisational goals and objectives, often based on limited information; draws on a sound understanding of internal and/or external factors, trends and balance of risk to develop options, recommendations and/or solutions requiring a high level of judgment.

? Able to show experience of effective complex problem solving in a business or NGO context.

? Thrives on working under pressure and with high ambitions and goals; is results oriented and ambitious; is innovative and creative in their approach.

? Strong understanding and demonstrable experience of advanced Customer/Donor Relationship Management concepts, including segmentation, tailored communications and campaign management. Knowledge of analytical tools and concepts, experience of using these tools to inform a marketing campaign and analyse complex information.

? Ability to apply a broad range of communication and interpersonal skills that allows the post holder to interact with and influence a range of contacts and situations, internally or externally; requires high level influencing, persuading and negotiating skills.

? Ability to plan, prioritize and organize the work of the entire department; allocates work, sets and reviews goals, assesses risks and demonstrate knowledge of interdependencies with other areas of work and organisational priorities.

? Ability to make,manage and control complex project budgets.

? High level of written and spoken English required, knowledge of Nordic languages desirable.

? Experience in a charity or not for profit environment desirable.
