Job Description

 

Job title: Funding and Development Support (Trusts and Corporate Funds) Funding and Development Department

 

Responsible to: Funding and Development Coordinator

 

Responsible for: no line management responsibilities

 

Salary: £13,900 per annum pro rata plus 2% pension payment after qualifying period

Hours:  32 hours per week (4 days equivalent). Flexible working required including some evening and weekend work

Contract:  Permanent subject to a satisfactory completion of a 6 month probation period.

It attracts around 60,000 visitors and learners per year and employs around 100 dedicated and creative staff who are passionate about a truly environmental future.

 

Based in beautiful mid-Wales, the Centre overlooks the Snowdonia National park a great area to live, renowned for its stunning scenery and outdoor activities.   • The Funding and Development department

 

CAT’s Funding and Development Department is considered to be one of Wales’ most successful fundraising teams. Having just finished fundraising for the inspirational WISE building, which is Europe’s greenest environmental education centre, the team is at an exciting stage, moving onto new projects and into new funding areas. 

 

 

  • Job summary

This role would suit someone looking for a challenge within a constantly evolving environmental organisation helping to deliver projects and core income to one of Europe’s foremost eco-centres. Specialising in trust, foundation and corporate support, you would be working as part of a team of experienced fundraisers to deliver a range of environmental initiatives both at CAT and for the wider UK.

 


Responsibilities

 

To take responsibility as requested for aspects of the department’s role of devising, developing and implementing strategies to raise funds and developmental opportunities for CAT through the following areas.

 

  1. Assisting with all aspects of individual trusts and foundations work including research, initial approaches, applications, follow-up and analysis.
  2. Assisting with all aspects of individual corporate support work including researching company backgrounds, approaching companies, preparing and aiding with presentations, dealing with responses.
  3. Assisting with all aspects of direct marketing to trusts and corporates including creating promotional materials, selecting appropriate targets, organising mailouts, dealing with all aspects of responses to mailings and analysing results.
  4. Assisting with all aspects of affinities work including researching relevant organisations, organising and implementing approach strategies, preparing and aiding with presentations, dealing with responses.
  5. Keeping databases and file records up to date and assisting with the analysis of promotional activities.
  6. Assisting with all aspects of payroll giving including identifying potential organisations, producing promotional materials, making presentation and analysing results.
  7. Behaving and presenting yourself appropriately as a CAT representative.
  8. Playing a full part in the administration of the department including handling money and adhering to policies.
  9. Assisting with the organisation and hosting of fundraising events.
  10. Undertaking research into funding or developmental opportunities.
  11. Liaising with various departments within CAT
  12. Networking with relevant outside organisations.
  13. Working with consultants.
  14. Assisting with any new areas of fundraising that may develop

Co-operative Rights and Duties


This is a permanent post and as such has voting and attendance duties regarding the wider management of CAT

  • To attend a minimum of 6 Monthly Staff Meetings per year
  • To consider issues presented to the staff body and be involved in the decision-making process regarding such issues
  • To input to policy development when policies are proposed by the Directions Team
  • To input to the strategy process when requested by the Directions Team
