Description

About the Funding and Development Department

The Funding & Development Team at the Centre for Alternative Technology is small and dynamic. We make most decisions collectively.  Communication and diplomacy is key in fundraising.  We meet regularly at structured team meetings and attend regular away days to discuss and plan our strategy and explore relevant research.

We aim to work within a supportive, learning based environment, where training and knowledge of Fundraising and wider environmental issues is strongly encouraged.

Work can feel quite pressurised sometimes as we experience a lot of deadlines and have ambitious targets, so ability to stay calm under pressure and get along with your fellow team members plus colleagues in other departments is essential.

We are an outward facing department and need to act as ambassadors for CAT at all times, ensuring that we are professional and honest in our dealings with funders and other outside organisations.

We respect each others differences and believe that a team is more than the sum of its parts. We try to play to people’s strengths and act as critical friends to each other, offering supportive and constructive feedback.

About the job
As part of the Fundraising and Development department, to assist the team to raise funds and develop opportunities for CAT.
